Statistics show that

Being that all of the founders are in STEAM subjects

Kristi, 21

Atlanta, GA

"One of my passions is building communities through education and mentorship. I am currently working on an independent study to research why STEM majors are exposed to minorities at a later time frame than every one else. From the data found I plan to implement a program that tutors and exposes minorities in STEM subjects/fields to increase positivity, confidence and knowledge.  From my independent study the end result is to implement a program in underprivileged communities to bring equality, knowledge and confidence."

"People would ask me how I was going to connect my major to STEM education and with extensive research I understand the need to improve the education system but from an Engineers perspective. I asked myself how could I help the systems in Title 1 schools specifically because it has a direct impact on my community as well as my family.

I want to positively impact my community by finding more efficient ways for students to learn.  I want to motivate and empower students to push themselves to limits they never knew they had.  I pray that this non-profit will impact and help more people than I ever imagined."

Also by connecting needs to services by providing links to outside resources to help communities become stable and healthy. Under this umbrella I also wish to partake in community service, be an advocate, and transform the community from its destructive practices that become generational. My goal is to work in cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Oakland, and as well as New York City where the need is great.

M.O.V.E believes it is vital for every student so know their history. Knowledge of where we’ve came from helps us to go forward into the future. Through the grace of GOD I was linked up with my partners Kristi and Njeri to create a non-profit that focuses in educating the minority youth  in Africana Studies, Financial Literacy, and S.T.E.A.M.(Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math). Because of them, I have learned the understanding as well as the importance of teaching the youth Financial Literacy and S.T.E.A.M.  We at M.O.V.E pledge to a beacon for the youth of minorities where they can find themselves as well as develop a skill that will guarantee them financial comfort and ownership over what they do.”
